The mother of a boy attacked with a knife on Halloween night in Londonderry has said she believes it was sectarian. Kyle Ross, 17, needed 50 stitches in his back after he was attacked by a gang near the Craigavon Bridge.
His mother, Karen Ross, said she did not believe it was a random assault. She said her son was subjected to sectarian abuse during the attack.
"I think it was sectarian, I think it was because they were seen coming from the Fountain," she said.
"The fellas that did this, they were not out there for Halloween, they were out to cause bother."
