Man arrested as pedestrian killed

A man in his 40s has died after being struck by a car in County Tyrone on Friday night.

It happened at a carpark on Cemetery Road in Cookstown shortly after 2200 GMT.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is currently helping police with their inquiries. The dead man's name has not been released. He died at the scene.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on 0845 600800.
