Derry City v Sligo Rovers updates

Derry City beat Sligo Rovers 5-0 in Tuesday night's Carlsberg FAI Cup semi-final replay at the Brandywell.

The teams had drawn 0-0 at the Sligo Showgrounds on Sunday but the superior class of the Candystripes kept up their hopes of a domestic trophy treble.

Pat McCourt opened the scoring on 33 minutes and Mark Farren added the second from the penalty spot after 39.

Ciaran Martyn got on the scoresheet on 42, Farren grabbed his second after 46 and Martyn scored in the final minute.

Derry will now play St Patrick's Athletic in the final at Lansdowne Road on Sunday 3 December.

Stephen Kenny's side already have the League Cup in their trophy cabinet and are challenging for the Eircom League title.
