Arrest after man attacked in town

A man has suffered injuries to his head and face after an assault in County Down.

The victim was attacked at Marine Parade in Warrenpoint in the early hours of Saturday. He was taken to hospital.

A 42-year-old man was arrested and is currently being questioned about the assault.

Police say a number of people were in the area at the time and they have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
