Woman's body found on beach

The body of a woman has been found on a Devon beach. Police have said they are treating the death as "unexplained".

The discovery was made by a member of the public near to the lido on Teignmouth beach on Saturday.

The woman, who is believed to be middle aged, was found at the water's edge on the outward tide at about 0645 GMT.

Officers say the woman's family are being informed and that a post-mortem examination will take place on Monday at the earliest.
